Yesterday I had one of those New York days. What I mean by this, is that when it starts you have no idea where it’s gonna end.
Here’s how it went:
I woke up in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. I looked at the time and it was 04:44. I finished the movie that I started the night before and I found out how ” Buffalo buffalo Buffalo buffalo buffalo buffalo Buffalo buffalo” makes total sense.
Couple of hours later I went outside. I dropped my laundry at the laundromat and went for a stroll. I thought about getting a haircut and found a place where a polish girl did a very good job, at the intersection of Norman and Manhattan avenues. Went back to put the laundry in the dryer and then got coffee and bagels at this deli where one of the men there, seeing I was carrying a camera, insisted I should go to Tanzania and shoot wildlife. He even showed me photos he took, on his iPhone.
I had my coffee and bagels (one onion, one cinnamon and raisin) and searched the internet for the thrift store I went to, about a month ago. Went outside again, picked my laundry and I went to the Beacon’s Closet thrift store. I got a brown shirt from Carhartt for 19 $ and then went to the subway. It was cold outside but sunny.
At the studio I did a little work on some of the new sculptures and had lunch – greek food from Astoria Seafood with my friend.
In the evening we were invited to Brasserie Magritte for dinner. We dressed up, but not to much. I put on a shirt and had my watch and hat. We had 4 different kinds of beer and I had rabbit for the main course and raspberry rhubarb cobbler for desert.
Well. . .see, that’s why I like this city.
