Melting Carousel came to life in late 2007 as a collaboration between Alex Lefonz and Lucian Naste from Timisoara, Romania. They were later joined by Gabriela Ioja, Mihai Jurmoni and Sergiu Cătană with whom they played extensively for a couple of years and recorded demos that never got printed despite the group’s quick rise to Romanian underground indie fame.
In 2008 they won Time Out Romania’s Best New Act and Stuffstock Festival’ Best New Band.
Kelting Marousel was recorded in 2008 and is the band’s only release. The EP is pending a limited edition split print with Tony Cliftones’ The Eternal Shininess of the Spotless Blind.
